The Three Yearlings

Comments are off

It’s almost time for the three yearlings, who are now 21 months old, to return to their wild homes. But it’s still nice to see them doing their thing in Wild Enclosure #4.

Dahlia is reluctant to get up in the morning.
Her friend, Mulberry, may be urging her to go down and forage. We’re not sure.
Augustus is working on a project. He is trying to take the Firehose Hammock apart.
He is a very determined young bear, and he may just succeed before he leaves us.
Posing on a stump, he appears to be proud of his accomplishment so far.
Dahlia meanders into the Acclimation Pen to munch some nuts.

It won’t be long now. The Acclimation Pen is open and well-stocked with tempting treats. All of the yearlings have been in and out. We can see one of the other bears looking like he is heading to the open gate. Stay tuned.
