There is no doubt that the bear cubs at ABR are eating quantities of food, as dictated by their hyperphagia-induced metabolism. Today we have a few photos of chubbifying cubs to prove that statement.

Starting with Heather the Yearling, see how plump they are getting.

Night vision camera shows Heather in her rounded state. She has really filled out since she arrived!

She foraged for a while and then went back to napping.

Highland, a cub in Enclosure #1, is looking rather portly!

Here are all of the Wild Enclosure #1 cubbies, sprawled out on the platforms.

In Enclosure #4, the cubs are following the dictates of hyperphagia and eating as much as they can.

Look at that round caboose! It’s easy to tell where Taco’s food has been going.

We can expect the  chubbifying to continue throughout the remainder of their stay at ABR. It will be most interesting to see how much they weigh when they are ready for release!
