A Fort for Beignet

Our very clever head curator, Coy, built a little fort for Beignet Bear in the Hartley House. He’s been working overtime, dreaming up enrichment ideas and challenges to keep her engaged during her convalescence. The fort proved to be a hit.

Beignet can hear Coy next door.
When she is sure he’s gone, she goes to investigate. Note: her caboose is getting larger!
Surprise! She discovers the fort.
She forages for the food that Coy had scattered around.
Beignet balances on a log. Good balance!
Beignet falls asleep in an awkward position.
She slept that way for a while.
After her nap she went into the fort and played with the fresh, green branches.

What will Coy and the other curators think of next? It’s been a challenge to keep Beignet from going “stir-crazy” but they are doing a great job! Hang in there, Beignet and curators – it will be over soon.
