Valentine’s Day Update

The work is continuing at the ABR facility, and will continue until we admit the first bear or cub of 2022. Good news for today was that the footers for The Cub House renovation are completed.

Footers are set. So far, so good!
Assuming all goes well, the cinderblock walls will start to rise tomorrow.

Since it is Valentine’s Day, we want to take a short trip down Memory Lane, and revisit a few of our bears from previous years.

Hartley Bear, for whom the Hartley House was named, arrived at ABR on Valentine’s Day in 2019.
Another bear with a connection to the holiday was Milo Bear. Curator Coy was hunting for Milo’s GPS collar on February 14, 2017.
Milo had dropped his collar in a stream.
Milo Bear had also left a “goodbye” token near the collar.
We can imagine Milo watching Coy and laughing from a perch in a tree.
Do you remember the triplets: Jasmine, Jeannie, and Magic? The neonates were found under a home on Valentine’s Day. Thankfully, they were reunited with their mother a few days later.
Here is our valentine to all of you!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
