With the releases of cubs from Enclosure #1 and Enclosure #4, ABR is now caring for six bear cubs. Today we take a look at them, to see how they are doing.

In Wild Enclosure #1, the four cubs squish together to sleep on their platform.

When it’s time to get up, all cubs awaken, of course.

They forage together and play in the wood pile.

Juggles is a handsome bear.

He pounced on Tater and they started to wrestle.

It’s hard to tell who is who as they form a bear ball!

Soon, Tater challenges Doodlebug in the traditional way – a pounce.

It looks like Doodlebug was NOT amused!

Juggles found a holly bush, one of the few spots of green in the enclosure.

He and Doodlebug analyze it for murdalizing.

Tater joins them to try it out – chomp! Not bad!

The floating pear comes by – Doodlebug is A-OK!

In Enclosure #3, Twinkle sleeps at the base of her favorite tree,

Snacks and water are close by if she needs them.

It’s a good place to sleep!

Twinkle spies on the other bear from a perch on the tree.

Tinsel has staked her claim to the other side of the enclosure.

She uses the back of her paw as a plate and eats peanuts, shelling them and discarding the shells.

Tinsel is still adjusting to her new surroundings and the presence of the other cub.

So far, she is making good progress.

She climbs high in a tree, where she can watch everybody. Brave cub!

We hope that these two little female cubs will become friends, but of course it’s up to them. Stay tuned to see how things develop.
