Loretta and Rose

Our two sisters, Loretta and Rose, are looking good.  They have been eating well and are plumping up, as bears are supposed to do.  Very soon they will be released into the Wild Side, to experience a larger space and more natural habitat.  Then it won’t be long until they are released back into the wild.  Here are a couple of recent photos of the two yearlings.   They are reported to be very active and are maintaining the proper wild behavior.

Incidently, we have been asked about the “earrings” the girls are wearing.  On Saturday, we are going to attend a workshop given by Kim Delozier, retired chief wildlife ranger with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is the agency that brought these yearlings to us.  We will ask Kim about the tags, and will report back to you when we learn the facts.
