Dumplin’ Bear

Our last post was about Dumplin’ and Ferdinand, but focused mostly on Ferdinand, who seemed to enjoy his privacy after the other cub left the room to go to his own digs. We’ll show what Dumplin’ did in his own room. He seems to be a playful cub.

Lying on his bed, Dumplin’ played with branches .
He rolled around on his bed, still playing with the branches.
His eyes “glow” in the light from the night vision camera.
When he was ready to sleep, Dumplin’ headed back into the safety of his carrier.
In the morning, Dumplin’ returned to Ferdinand’s room and swung on the hammock swing. Ferdinand didn’t look too pleased.
It looks as though Ferdinand is scolding Dumplin’ for messing with his swing.
Dumplin’ seems to be a bit of a tease.

We wondered if the two cubs would reach an understanding. Dumplin’ really wants to be friends, perhaps because he has a sister and is used to being with another cub. We don’t know, but it seems as though Ferdinand may have been an only cub, not used to other cubs.

They were seen together in one photo later in the day.

Dumplin’ (with ear tags) and Ferdinand. They WILL become friends!
Surprise! They shared the room (and, apparently, the bed) last night. They rolled out of bed together. Guess the friendship has begun!

Next post will show how Tweetsie Bear returned to The Hartley House after her trip to UTCVM.
