We’ve read several articles from various parts of the country, in which bears have been seen and advice is offered to people living in bear-active areas.  Especially good and pertinent tips are found in an article from a newspaper in Oregon.  Although this is a different part of the country, the precautions and suggestions are excellent and  important no matter where you live in bear-active areas of the US or Canada.
