Our earlier post was nothing if not depressing news, so we thought it would be good to give a brighter end to the day.

A few days ago, as you know, Juggles was released into Wild Enclosure #2. He has been trying to gain acceptance into the trio of Doodlebug, Nugget, and Tater Bear. As we have often seen in the past, it’s not always easy to make friends if you’re a bear cub.

Juggles enjoys foraging for chestnuts and acorns.

The cub trio is suspicious of this new kid.

Suspicious, but also curious!

Juggles is a bold little bear. He doesn’t back off.

In fact, Juggles moves closer to them.

He keeps moving closer.

Doodlebug and Nugget dashed up the tree, but brave Tater stood his ground.

It looks like Juggles is wondering where the other 2 cubs went.

But finally, Juggles got a bit too playful/close, and Tater went up the tree.

Tater settled on the platform, looking up at the two girls.

Nugget felt safer up high.

Later the trio met for a conference. They decided not to let Juggles get closer for now.

Juggles settled himself on “Townsend”s branch” (named for Townsend Bear) and went to sleep.

The cubby trio slept on the platform, as usual.

We hope that Juggles will soon become a part of their group It would be more fun for all of them!
