The Cubs are All Right

As the days grow shorter and cooler, the cubs are doing well. Because hibernation is not so far off now, they are also getting lazier and sleeping more.

Nettles has adjusted to her confinement, and is actually sleeping through the night on her bed!

Her menu has been upgraded to shelled and unshelled peanuts, and mazuri bear diet pellets as well as split acorns.

Little Trouble and Sorrel are busily digging for something yummy.

We suspect that there are bugs and larvae in there.

What wonderful tools the cubs have to dig with! Strong paws with sharp claws!

Bear cubs love to torment saplings.

Saplings in the enclosures live a difficult life!

We’re glad that Myrtle was accepted. She still doesn’t take any guff from anyone!
