The weather has not changed much, although they are saying that Townsend will gradually warm up in the coming days. The two cubs, Tinsel and Twinkle, seem to be preparing for their future lives alone, as they spent the last night in separate dens.

The arrow points to a sliver of Tinsel’s nose in her den. Twinkle is still up and about.

Twinkle emerged from her den first.

Once again, she stared at The Forbidden Tree. It seems to fascinate her, while Tinsel pays no attention to it, at all.

She REALLY wants to climb it, but can’t!

After a trip around the enclosure, Twinkle returns to the tree.

Oh no! The water in The Cubby Pool is hard, again!

Tinsel and Twinkle are both frustrated by the frozen water.

Curators Tom and Cole are the ice-breakers.

The Cub Tub is frozen all the way to the bottom! It will thaw as the weather warms in coming days.

Now the cubs can drink as much as they want!

Twinkle takes a nice, long drink.

Both cubs took advantage of the broken-up ice to access their water. They are eating a lot, so they need plenty to drink.
