The frigid weather resulted in the Cubby Pools freezing solid. For the last several days the cubs have made the acquaintance of water in its solid state. Since the weather is still cold (though not as cold as before) the water was not thawing, so curators Tom and Tori broke up the ice so the cubs could drink. Predictably, this resulted in some new experiences.

Piper got a large chunk of ice from the pool.

It was like “what do I do now?”

Is this a new toy?

Cub solution – smash it!

One piece becomes two!

Sage found ice at bottom of Cub Tub.

She tried to lift it out to no avail.

Oh well, just leave it there.

Christmas Cubs slept in the New Year.

Curators added a honey log with mealworms for a treat!

It took Mistletoe 6 seconds to leave a tip on the clean floor!

Cubs enjoyed the log. They are becoming more playful and interactive.

Heather spent time in her tree.

Look at Nettles’ caboose! This girl has grown!

Taco thought he’d walk on the “hard water.”

He almost fell in!

Saved by the counterbalance of his rotund behind!

Keeping track of where the cubs are now.
