Another Day for the Yearlings

Nettles is continuing to come down from her tree in daytime, making it much easier to keep track of her progress. She is looking good!

She is braver these days, after all the time she spent in her tree, only coming down at night.

She has been eating well and has achieved the shape of the Floating Pear.

Nettles went into the Acclimation Pen for her enclosure for the first time since she was released into Enclosure #4.

Checking her with the Caboose Curvature Arrow, another measure of a bear’s weight gain, short of the actual weighing on release day.

Her “mittens” are more noticeable in this light, but the fur is growing back.

Meanwhile, in Wild Enclosure #3 –

Peppermint and Mistletoe play “Swat your sibling.”

The game is also known as “You can’t catch me,” and one sibling goes up the tree.

C’mon back here! I want to swat you again!

No way!

Then I’m coming up!

The Christmas Yearlings are doing well. They sleep a lot, but when they are awake they have a surprising amount of energy!
