Yearlings & Social Distance

The four yearlings, as bears, don’t have to practice social distance. That’s a good thing, because look at our first photo of Jessamine and Boudreaux Bear asleep.

Jessamine and Boudreaux are beary close as they sleep.
Beignet forages late at night. No other bear is close.
The two females wrestle while Boudreaux keeps his distance.
No social distance here, as all three gather together. But they are bears, so it’s OK.
The three bears, each in a space of its own.
This is good social distance, from a bear’s point of view.

As we said at the outset, bears don’t have to practice social distance, and from the curators’ view we’re sure that is a very good thing. How would they ever enforce social distance rules?
