ABR bears are doing well as they prepare for winter. Sometimes they can be hard to find in their enclosures, especially at night and especially when it rains.
In Enclosure #1, two cubs slept together on the platform. We assume the other two were either on the ground or up in trees. It had rained.
It was early in the morning. They got together for a meeting.
After sitting a few minutes, they started to take swipes at one another – typical cub behavior.
They decided to climb the trees.
Climbing brought on another round of swipes at one another.
Ah, a perfect picture of all four cubs on trees!
Although there are five cubs in this enclosure, only four appeared for the photo.
The fight club girls slept in trees. Thanks to the arrows we can find them.
They came down to eat and perhaps to fight a bit.
Little Nettles slept on her back and on her bed.
After breakfast, she fell asleep again. Lots of sleeping and eating will help her to get stronger and healthier!
Heather Bear checked out the vertical den. If she had gone inside, we might have had to use the Yearling Extraction Tool!
She is very hard to find in her daybed, but the twitching ears revealed her place.
The sunshine on her snout showed us where she was!
Heather is often the most difficult to find, but maybe this is a favorite spot for her to sleep. We’ll check here again!
