Woody, our yearling bear, is very secretive and hard to photograph.  But a few days ago we got lucky and were able to catch him as well as filming the cubs in the other Wild Enclosure.  The cubs are busy foraging for food, and we can see very clearly how a bear eats a nut (in this case a peanut) and ejects the shell through the sides of the mouth.  That’s a trick we can’t do, but because of the bear’s long snout they are able to do this with ease.  After all, they don’t want to eat the shells!  Click here to enjoy this video.
