Most of the cubs are now outside, where they will spend the rest of their time at ABR. We are checking on some of them today, and then will see how curator Tom, cleans up the hard-working stuffies who help newly rescued cubs adjust to ABR.
First the cubs, in their outdoor enclosures.
Here is Thistle Bear. She is in Wild Enclosure #3.
In Wild Enclosure #4, Little Trouble Bear enjoys finding peanuts.
Wee little Sorrel Bear is in Wild Enclosure #4. She seems to be looking up as if wondering how hard it would be to climb this tall tree.
Back in Wild Enclosure #3, Thistle is using one of the resting platforms.
Siblings Truffle and Thyme Bear are in Enclosure #3 with their brother Thistle.
Taco Bear is the adopted brother of the three “T” cubs.
If you remember when Taco arrived and was alone for a while, this will look familiar. While he was in the Hartley House, he had Not a Polar Bear for company and to take the place of the mama bear he had been separated from.
After the cubs are outdoors, the services or the ABR Toy Brigade are no longer needed, but the stuffies show the effects of the love they received from the cubs. Curator Tom spent a recent day cleaning them up to be ready when new cubs come along.
A dirty and unkempt bear!
Tom painstakingly combs the cedar chips out of the fur.
Into the hot tub it goes! A spa day will make this bear feel and look much better!
After their bath, the stuffies rest while waiting for their next assignment.
If they are needed again, they will be ready for duty.
