Wild Enclosure #2 - Appalachian Bear Rescue

The residents of Wild Enclosure #2 are members of two families: the triplets (Downy, Firefly, and Flicker) and the sisters Raven and Chickadee. When they were transferred into the enclosure a couple of days ago, the curators were able to weigh them. Here are the new stats.

Raven weighs 18.6 pounds now. She was 12 pounds on May 18 when the sisters arrived. Her sister Chickadee weighs 17.2 and was 11.2 on arrival. The triplets arrived on June 2 and have not gained weight as yet. Firefly weighs 15 pounds, Flicker weighs 17.6 pounds, and Downy weighs 13.2 pounds. They have been at ABR for a week, and they haven’t lost weight.

Ken LaValley came by and took some photos of the new babies. As usual, his portraits are detailed and very good.

Ken will return to get portraits of other cubs who were not so cooperative during this photo shoot. Wait for them. As you can see, Ken wasn’t able to photograph the triplets yet.
