It may only be the beginning of a beautiful spring, but the black bears of Lake Tahoe in Nevada are already waking up from their restful winters. The story doesn’t end there though. Many of these early risers are not showing any fear of humans. Apparently, one has even taken up residence under the porch of a local couple, and ate three small pine trees for good measure. The Sierra Bear Front, a local organization, has decided to start education to the public on the bears’ behalf. They intend to start a sort of PSA advertising campaign. Hopefully this can reduce the conflict between the community and the black bears. ABR wishes the Sierra Bear Front all the luck on their new mission, they’re gonna need it.
