With the release of our longest 2013 ABR residents, the SC cubs – Bennie, Jerry, and Carrie – the ABR facility has become much quieter. The three “Flower Girls” – Blossom, Buttercup, and Poppy – are the only cubs remaining at the facility. We have said before, that these little bears have been difficult to capture on camera, spending most of their time either in the trees or hiding in the underbrush. Because they were older when they came to ABR, they had already learned to stay hidden or seek safety in trees. But one of our curators was very fortunate to be able to get these photos of the three elusive cubs a few days ago. You can see that they are growing. Although they certainly aren’t the size of the SC cubs, they are getting closer to the weight they will need for their own release.
