We welcome spring in the form of our first spring cub, Bobby Bear! He was admitted today (the first day of spring) after a TWRA wildlife officer brought him in from Gatlinburg. He was found in a ditch filled with water, but fortunately he doesn’t seem to have suffered any adverse effects. Although he hasn’t been weighed as yet, his weight is estimated to be about 4 to 5 pounds, which is average for a 2-month old cub. HE HAS NOW BEEN WEIGHED, AND WE LEARN THAT HE ONLY WEIGHS THREE POUNDS! Obviously, this means he is underweight for his age.
And so our cub season begins…..now we must order a new supply of that very expensive milk replacement. We will appreciate donations to help us purchase the cub formula that will cost approximately $700 for the 4 months that Bobby Bear will need it. Thank you in advance!
