Those words describe the ABR cubs very well.  As do any other synonyms for “fat.”  We have showed the cubs eating for several months now, and the result of all that ingestion of food is that the cubs have added that extra layer of fat needed to see them through the winter.  Yes, they are very close to release now, and as you can see from these photos, they are ready!  Apollo Bear did not show himself when Curator Janet was taking photos, but Otto and Rollo are good examples of bear cub corpulence.

Otto Bear is a handsome boy.

The fall colors provide a nice contrast to his black fur.

He has done his share of eating, no doubt about it!

Rollo Bear strolled into view.

Rollo is just as handsome as his buddy, Otto.

The curators estimate that the three cubs are very close to the same weight.  The truth will be revealed soon, when they are worked up for release.
