Every month we celebrate the “birthday” of our cubs on the 22nd.  ABR has chosen January 22nd as the “official birthday” of all bear cubs and yearlings who come to us.  The reason for this date is that it is in the middle of the possible birth dates for bears.  They are actually born from mid-January to mid-February.   So January 22nd is a likely choice.  November 22nd is the 10 month birthday of Otto, Rollo and Apollo.

They played “bite my nose” for a few minutes.

The play was very low key.  They didn’t exert themselves much at all.  The curators have noticed a definite slowing down on the part of the cubs.  The chances are that this will be the last month birthday they will have at ABR.  By December 22nd they will likely be snoozing in their own dens in the wild.
