The rescued yearling cubs seem to get tinier and more pitiful each time one is admitted to ABR.
This little male arrived yesterday (Feb. 5th) and weighs even less than our 7th little bear did!
His fur is scruffy and ragged-looking, a result of ongoing malnutrition. We don’t know how long he had been trying to survive on his own but thankfully the TWRA officers brought him to ABR so that he can have the nutrition and hydration necessary to make him into a healthy bear.
First up for him is to get acquainted with #7 so he has a buddy, and to have Pedialyte to restore electrolytes.
Then yogurt and fruit will be added to the menu as his system can handle these foods. YIKES!
