Little Bit had a ‘house call’ today from Dr. Marcy J. Souza, University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Marcy found the cub to be in excellent shape and OK’d a move to a much larger outside enclosure on Monday afternoon. She will not be placed with the ‘SISTERS’ because they are ready for release, which the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will organize shortly (more on that later.) But Little Bit will have a much more spacious outdoor enclosure as you can see.

ABR staff and representatives view Little Bit’s new ‘home’ while she continues to gain weight for eventual release.

On Monday afternoon she will be sedated and examined and weighed before being placed in her new enclosure. She is a wild one (!) so none of that could happen without sedation but it will short and sweet. It will also prevent Little Bit from injuring herself during the transfer process.
