All of the thirteen bears (12 cubs, 1 yearling) at ABR are doing very well. Here are some pictures to prove it. Most of our photos are taken by the mounted trail cams in the enclosures, but these were taken by Curator Tom, who did a census the way it was done before the cameras were installed. He walked around each of the enclosures, taking pictures of the cubs within.

Having fun on the Tire Bridge.
Meanwhile, in the Recovery Center:
Heather had another good night. A special treat was in store for her!
Here is a wasp nest that Curator Coy found in one of the buildings. He knocked it down, and waited until all the adults had moved out.
Coy placed the nest on Heather’s bed while she slept.
Heather ignored her bowl of fruit and bear pellets, and went straight to the nest. She gobbled the eggs, larvae, and even the paper, in other words, she ate the whole thing with relish! That was a real treat for our injured yearling, and she knew just what to do with it!
