The security cameras in each of the enclosures allow the curators (and us) to see how the cubs start their day. Some of them are “early bird” bears, while others take longer to get the day started. That’s a lot like humans, isn’t it?
The “T” cubs in Wild Enclosure #3 were up and foraging early, before the camera switched from night mode to day mode.
The female cubs in enclosure #4 waited until after the sun was up.
Highland Bear, in Wild Enclosure #1, took time deciding whether or not to get up.
He checked with Angus Bear.
It was obvious how Piper felt about it – he wanted to stay put!
Piper’s vote seemed to make the difference. All of the cubs in Enclosure #1 are snoozing.
Since she has her enclosure all to herself, Heather can choose to do what she wants, when she wants.
So there you have it – the start of the day in all of the enclosures. As for what comes next – we’re sure that they will think of some sort of mischief to get into!
