Bear cubs, just like all young animals (including humans) spar with each other for fun and to develop their muscles and their skills.  Here is an excellent video clip that Curator Coy took, showing Bennie and Jerry Bear sparring with each other, while their sister Carrie observes but doesn’t participate.  These practice sessions will help them to prepare for their lives in the wild, after they are released.
