The bear cubs are always assumed to be the culprits when anything destructive occurs. However, once in a while they are innocent, as this story proves!
It was assumed that the branch was broken by cubs either being vandals or (worse) trying to escape. The fence is between Enclosures 1 and 2.
Curator Haley climbed a ladder to dislodge the branch, which fell into Enclosure 2.
The cubs in the enclosure were curious, and watched from a distance.
As they watched, the Floating Pear came by to check the chubbiness of cubs. This one seems sure to pass the test!
Another measurement tool is the Caboose Curvature Arrow, seen in this photo. Perfectly rounded!
Curious as always, the cubs climbed down to see what had happened.
Nugget chewed on the branch, but didn’t find it tasty.
The branch was forgotten when raindrops started to fall.
As we know, bears take to the trees when it rains, and Juggles was already up. This view of the area shows that the tree with the broken branch is actually in Enclosure #1, and since it is a “Forbidden Tree,” with the plastic wrap making it too difficult to climb, so no cub from that enclosure was guilty of breaking it. All cubs are innocent! Yay!
Meanwhile, Twinkle is doing very well in Hartley House. She has an insatiable appetite, which will serve her well in gaining weight!
