We have seen a lot of “moving house” recently at ABR. Yesterday, it was time for the Triple Play cubs (Homer, Champ, and Diamond) and their roommate, Sundae Bear, who had finally become friends in Hartley House, to move outside to a Wild Enclosure! The curators had worked to prepare Enclosure 3 for the new group.

The pool was scrubbed and filled with clean water.

It’s  ready. Now for the cubs.

The cubs were moved into the Acclimation Pen. The cubs were not pleased.

Their first move was to head for the platform – the highest place in the Acclimation Pen.

Sundae noticed that the gate was open.

The brave little cub went out.

She climbed a tree – the first instinct of many cubs before her.

The other cubs, who had followed her lead, joined her to forage right away.

One cub peeked around the tree.

Sundae was an explorer! She checked everything!

When she saw the pool, she dove right in!

The others didn’t follow this time.

She tried to entice them. Nope. Not this time!

They discovered the swingy ball.

This might have been where the cubs spent the night.

In the morning, they foraged together. It appears that they are settling in to their new digs.
