After several days of playing hard to get , Heather the yearling made her appearance today, and she looks good!
She is tall – she reaches up to the Tire Bridge with ease. She knows all about it, too.
She climbs up into the Tire Bridge, and can still fit through the tires.
She settles down for some delicious tire water (with bugs).
Heather revealed her daybed between two trees. How comfy!
A closer look shows us that she has gained weight. Good bear!
Her fur is growing back to cover her wounds that have healed well.
She looks very comfortable in her daybed.
We are very happy to see her looking so healthy!
In the Hartley House, 8-month-old Myrtle Bear is feeling so much better that she is actively looking for a way out! Good bear!
She got a special treat today – a honeycomb sandwich!
Here is a sandwich for a bear cub. This one is filled with berries, but Myrtle’s has honeycomb in the middle. Yummy!
Our cub is doing very well. The curators are hoping to release her to a wild enclosure very soon. That should make her happy.
Stay tuned.
