You may remember when we wrote about the wild mother bear with a cub that was frequenting the area outside the enclosures at ABR. A couple of days ago, the cub climbed over the external, barrier fence and ended up just outside the pen where Highway is recuperating. The two cubs huffed at each other through the fence, and then Lisa, the ABR curator, was able to shoo the visitor out to where his mama bear was waiting. To help you visualize how this could happen, here is a photo of a bear (not the mama or cub) outside the external fence. You can see the cub enclosure fencing inside the external fence. The external fence is meant to keep wild animals out and away from the cubs in rehab, but this little wild cub was able to climb over it and pay a visit to Highway.
