Last week, two more yearling cubs, a brother and sister, were admitted to ABR.  They had been found in the Elkmont area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  The male is slightly underweight for a 1-year-old, but his sister is extremely underweight.  They will be cared for at ABR until both bears are of sufficient weight to be released together back into the park.  When we are able to obtain pictures of the newcomers, we will post them.

The total we are now caring for is 9, and there are reports of others that will possibily be admitted soon.  For all bears in the wild, the soft mast crop (berries and other summer fruits) can’t ripen soon enough!
