Several releases have occurred recently, leaving ABR with just two young bears at the present time. RA, who was admitted back in May, and the little LA yearling are enjoying each other’s company, as this picture illustrates very well.

The fact that these are the only bears on site now will permit volunteers to make some badly needed repairs to the facility. Repairs could not be made when there were many cubs and yearlings present. In 2009, as you know, we had a record number of bears to care for. Therefore, no facility work was done. Now we’ll try to catch up on improvements and repairs before any more needy bear cubs are admitted.
