It is Cubby Birthday – all of our cubs are officially five months old today! Of course, that means treats, and the curators were offering berries-on-the-vine.
Curator Katrina added branches of blackberries to the Hartley House room for SuBearu and Puff.
There were both ripe and unripe berries on the branches.
As expected, the cubs noticed and checked out the new additions.
Ouch! These treats have thorns, something the cubs have never encountered before.

Peeps and her mates don’t venture far out of the shadows, where it is cooler.
There is a third cub in there, but it can’t be seen.

In case you’ve missed it or have forgotten, ABR has designated January 22 as the birth date of every cub and yearling in our care. That date is approximately in the middle of possible dates for the birth of cubs.
