Curator Janet was able to confirm what the curators had thought, that Eliza and Andy Bear were, indeed, coming down from their tree to forage. She was able to take pictures of all three of the cubs on the ground, foraging near to each other! This is what we had hoped to see as it means that Finnegan is having some contact with others of his kind. Hopefully it will continue.
We can see the size difference between Finnegan, who has had more bountiful quantities of food since his arrival at ABR in March, and the two siblings who were in the wild until just a few weeks ago. They are putting on weight, but need to gain more.
Over in Wild Enclosure #3, Lucinda sits in her tree. She has not taken the bait as yet, but we are sure that she will in due time. As a healthy yearling she needs to get back out in the wild.
Stay tuned as we follow the cubs and their developing tolerance for each other and wait to see when Lucinda will be ready to leave ABR.
