We have received questions recently asking about the 6 yearling cubs that are still in the care of ABR. These little ones are doing well, and spending most of their time hiding in a “den” and resting. They do most of their eating at night now. Because they are in the last weeks of their stay at ABR, we have to minimize their exposure to humans even more than usual. When they are released, it is imperative that they are not habituated to people or comfortable in the presence of people. Thus, it is very hard for us to take photos of them to share. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago, but it depicts what the group is doing. Rick, our curator, is monitoring them closely (but without contact, of course) and reports that all is well and they are looking good. If we are able to get another, more recent photo, we will be sure to share it, but for now, just rest assured that our little yearlings are gaining weight and making progress toward their release, and their “second chance” at a life in the wild.
