Here are photos of the ten cubs at ABR – all of them!
Tots is doing very well. We are hopeful that after she is checked by the UT vets she will be able to meet another cub at last!
Jackie Paper lives next door to Tots. He is eating well.
He needs lots of sleep, and he’s getting it in his Hartley House room.
Puff Bear is in the Recovery Center.
She had some serious injuries. The curators are watching her carefully and will be doing so for the next two weeks.
Another injured cub, SuBearu, went back to UTCVM. She couldn’t tolerate the pins in her leg any longer.
The doctors removed the pins and cleaned the holes.
Dr. Michelle Kendall, in her last week as an intern at UTCVM, hands SuBearu to Greg, who returned her to ABR.
Back at the facility:
In Acclimation Pen #4, Casper and his brother Shadow spar.
These cubs are energetic! They are making a batch of Cubby Broth in their pool.
There seem to be two cubs and a meerkat in the acclimation pen!
The trio in Wild Enclosure #1 are enjoying every bit of the space.
Daisy Mae and Duke are wrestling so much that they aren’t catching up to Jellybean in the growth department.
Climbing trees is good for cubs.
They look so angelic when they are asleep!
Climbing down is a challenge. Jellybean goes first.
The siblings delay while they continue to wrestle.
One starts down carefully.
But the other takes a chomp on his/her sibling.
The third one finally descends.
All three jumped into The Cubby Pool. What fun!
Things are lively at Appalachian Bear Rescue. Watch this space for more shenanigans to come!
