Bear cubs find some rather unusual and interesting ways to rest and relax. This sequence of photos of Sugar Bear in the leafless tree that the cubs seem to favor is a good case in point. To us, the idea of resting in such a precarious position, high above the ground, seems like an impossibility. To our little cub, it is normal, natural, and (we assume) very comfortable.
We don’t know about you, but we certainly couldn’t rest in a position like this – that branch has to hurt! But Sugar Bear seems quite content. She is snoozing, as bears often do in trees.
