Sugar Bear and Sweet Pea Bear are very elusive since they moved into the outdoor acclimation pen. They show good wild behavior, hiding whenever they sense that a curator is nearby. Because of the blinds around the pen, and the fact that a curator slides the bowl of formula-yogurt-fruit in through a small door, the cubs don’t see the human. But their keen senses of smell and hearing alert them to the presence of the curator. Coy got lucky a couple of days ago, and was able to catch the two cubs eating. Water that was running masked the sounds he might have made, so Sugar and Sweet Pea felt safe enough to come out and sample the food. Here is the result.
