We must apologize for the lapse in posts. It’s been a busy few weeks. Today we have a video for your enjoyment. It was taken 10 days ago by Curator Janet, and shows us that our last 3 cubs, the “Flower Girls,” were slowing down in their eating. If you recall, a month ago they were ravenously devouring everything in sight, as they were in hyperphagia, the feeding frenzy that hits all bears in the fall, as their bodies demand food to prepare for the long sleep they will have during the winter. Now that urgency is diminishing. Our cubs are close to the weight they need in order to go into hibernation, so they continue to eat, but at a much slower, more relaxed pace. We think you will see that the cubs are much calmer in this video.
