We told you about the release of brothers Stout and Porter Bear; next it was time for Prost and his sister Cheers, along with India Bear to go back to their homes in the wild.
Prost in July, soon after his arrival.His sister, Cheers, when they were new to ABR.They enjoyed the Cubby Pool during the summer.They slept together on “Summitt’s branch” in their enclosure.They shared the enclosure with Bourbon and India Bear.Today, Prost Bear is a chubby fellow!Cheers is as chonky a cub as we might want her to be!India arrived at ABR in September.At first, India kept to herself.It wasn’t long before the four cubs became friends.India has become a beautiful, chubby bear cub.A few days ago, she discovered ice when it formed in the pool!
It was time for the three cubs to leave ABR.
Cheers went to the staging area first.The blindfold protects her eyes, which can’t blink when she is immobilized.Cheers’ foot is smaller than some.A good set of teeth and a healthy mouth.Indignities – temperature and blood pressure readings.All done – Cheers weighs 92.18 pounds!Brother Prost is next.Big Boy! Prost weighs 137.5 pounds!Prost has a good set of teeth.A big paw for shredding logs and climbing trees.Prost is almost done with his exam.Time to go – it takes two to lift him!He’s ready to go now.At last, it’s India’s turn.She is measured and examined, and notes are taken.India is a beautiful young bear.She, too, has a healthy mouth and good teeth.Exam over. India weighs 91.74 pounds.India is in her transport carrier, ready to go.At the release site, Prost is first out of his carrier.Up a tree he goes!Cheers hesitates a few moments.Then off she goes to join her brother.
