On April 12, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) officers reclaimed 29 of the yearling cubs at ABR and transported them to their new, wild habitats. It was a busy day for all concerned. It is always gratifying to see the bears, some of whom were very depleted and undernourished when they arrived at ABR, be judged to be ready for life in the wild. We have several photos, taken during the release process, that we will share for the next few days. Hope you enjoy them! In the first photo, a couple of the bears are not too sure about what is going on, as the officers are looking about for release candidates. In the second photo, an officer is trying to lure a reluctant yearling out of its hiding place.
