It rained for a couple of days, with the results that the cubs spent a lot of time in trees. They have very good, waterproof raincoats, thanks to long guard hairs that shed water and protect their soft undercoats from the weather.
Look how wet Highland Bear is! But underneath the wet fur his underfur is dry.
His brother, Piper Bear, licks water off Highlands wet fur. That’s one way to get a drink!
Heather wasn’t wet enough, and swam in the Cubby Pool. After the rain, she apparently wanted more wetness. She’s a very clean yearling!
After a few laps, up the tree she goes to the resting platform.
Heather sat there for a long time.
But then she lay down to snooze. She will be down to forage later, we are sure.
None of the other cubs were visible today. Maybe tomorrow we’ll see them.
