One of the 6 little bears that are housed together at ABR peeks out of the “den” where they spend most of their time. Our curator, Rick, tells us that he seldom sees more than one at a time. They are quite shy, it would seem. That is appropriate for a black bear, however, as they are usually shy and reclusive animals.
That apple looks good enough to eat, and so he decides to take a bite! YUM! The yearlings are eating well, and getting ready for their wild releases, which will happen very soon.
