In case you missed the great event, here are some photos to show you what was going on.  This was the sight that greeted visitors at the entrance:

Welcome to Black Bear Expo!
Visitors learned about ABR, signed up to become members, and registered to win prizes.

Board members staffed the registration table
The “bear” pays no attention to the campsite if it is set up correctly.

Bear safe camping display
Several speakers entertained the crowd.

Lisa Stewart, ABR curator, told about current bears
Our education table had displays to teach visitors about bears.  The volunteers who staffed it answered many questions.

Learning about bears

Other displays included TWRA, a games table, a woodcarver and chainsaw carver, Chuck Cooper, our photographer who showed people how to take pictures of bears and other wildlife, Joel Zachry with his newly-published book about bears, Tony Thomas, Appalachian musician, and Pistol Creek Catch of the Day band as well as two food vendors.  It was a great day!  If you missed it this year, we just might have another Expo next year, so plan to attend in 2011.
