Everyone has been concerned about the newest arrival, little Phoenix, who had those awful burns on his face. Fortunately, his eyes seem not to have been affected by whatever caused the burns. At his exam at the UTCVM, he was found to weigh not quite ten pounds, a dangerously low weight for a ten-month-old cub! He is now in Hartley House, next door to the three boys – Rags, Scruffy, and Crockett.
He laps his bear milk replacement formula.
After a snack, Phoenix ate a snack of apple slices.
Then he went back for another nap on Not-a-Polar-Bear. On his first day and night, Phoenix slept almost 24 hours. He needs rest almost as much as he needs food.
After the nap. he finished his formula.
Back to sleep. He is alternating between eating and sleeping, and needs to do both!
If you remember how small Rags was, look at him now, with the smaller Crockett.
Crockett found a lovely apple!
Scruffy appeared and wanted the apple.
But Crockett trotted away with it. He isn’t that timid little bear, hiding, any more. Perhaps Scruffy has met his match!
