Not-So-Little-Cubs

Comments are off

Our cubs and yearling bears that we’ve referred to as “little” bears aren’t so little any more. They have been eating and eating, foraging and eating some more – and now, they have metamorphosed into chonky, chubby cubs and yearlings. Here’s the proof:

Dumplin’ Bear looks up to see if more nuts are coming his way.
Ferdinand has eaten acorns and peanuts; now he’s ready to try some salad (leaves).
Sassafras Bear is chonky! She holds a part of a sapling that she probably murdalized.
Tweetsie Bear forages for peanuts and acorns.
Clover Bear needs a drink. Bears drink copious amounts of water during hyperphagia – all the eating makes for thirsty cubs.
Another result of all the eating and drinking – tired cubbies. Naps are good.
Raven Bear looks beautiful in the sunshine.
Zzzzz – Downy Bear takes a nap in the sun.
Indigo Bear rests in a tire. He fills it up now!
Indigo’s brother and sister snooze on the platform.
Augustus Bear pays a visit to a relaxed Dahlia.

We think our “not-so-little” bears look really good! They aren’t through growing yet, but when they are released before the end of the year it looks like they will be more than ready to make it in the wild.
