The first cub to arrive at ABR in 2022 was admitted on March 4th. It is a male Cub of the Year, born in January, so he is about 7 weeks old. He was rescued in Cocke County, TN after his mother was hit by a car, and locals took him to the police, who subsequently called TWRA.
The tiny cub weighs 1.8 pounds and is ABR #346. His nickname is Peace, since our world needs more of that now. Wildlife officers are looking for a potential foster mother, but the window of time is short. We’ll keep our fingers crossed and will update you as needed.
So the 2022 year has begun for ABR. We sincerely hope that a foster mom can be found, in which case our continuing services won’t be needed, and little Peace Bear will have the best possible outcome, but time will tell. Stay tuned.
