Each day brings new adventures to the cubs at ABR. Today was no exception.
Jellybean climbed a small tree. Not a good idea, since he is the largest cub in residence.
Oops! the sapling gave way under his weight.
It cracked, dumping Jellybean on the ground! Luckily, he was OK.
Of course, the other cubs came to investigate.
Jellybean was unhurt and not at all apologetic. In fact, a moment later he murdalized a smaller sapling on purpose!
Jackie P stands guard at entrance to the Underneath.
Jackie P is small, but mighty. He keeps up with the bigger cubs in the enclosure.
What goes on down there is a mystery.
Duke is removing the firehose from the platforms. He is diligent about it.
Daisy Mae gives Jellybean a chomp.
It’s about time – at last they are taking a nap!
Look at all the “stuff” that SuBearu and Puff have acquired!
The curators gave them some marrow bones (bears do eat meat when they find it).
Puff gobbled up the marrow, but SuBearu was not impressed.
The two cubs sleep in their firehose hammock. SuBearu will return to UTCVM this week and we are hoping she will get the OK to go outside into a Wild Enclosure! Fingers crossed! Stay tuned to find out.
